Synopsis:

The language and communication competences acquired in CESZ1 are further developed. Students deepen their knowledge of the declension and conjugation system and practise basic communication topics. The course covers roughly lessons 3-5 in Czech Express by L. Holá and P. Bořilová.

Requirements:

Mastery of the material covered in the syllabus for the given semester.

Active participation in class.

Regular attendance, i.e. a maximum of 3 absences per semester

Proper preparation for each class, even in the case of previous absences.

Students must be prepared for each lesson. This means that they must have the necessary materials with them each week, including a textbook or other study materials. The materials can be also accessed electronically using a laptop or tablet (not a mobile phone). If a student attends class without the required study materials, this situation is considered an absence.

Independent and timely completion of all homework assignments .

Final semester test with a minimum score of 60%. In case of failure, the credit test may be repeated once.

Without the express permission of the instructor, students may not use any aids during the test.

conjugation of verbs „dát si, mít rád, číst, pít, jíst, jmenovat se“,

conjugation of modal verbs „chtít, moct, muset“,

numbers 100-10000,

possessive pronouns,

-í and -ý adjectives,

syntax - subject x object,

prepositions v/ve, do x na x k/ke,

mít rád x rád dělat,

multiple negative.

Topics:

in a restaurant,

How much is it?,

my family,

How old are you?,

time, parts of a day /week, months, dates - When is it? When will we meet?,

hobbies and favourite activities.

Syllabus of tutorials:

The course is run as a series of seminars following the topics and scope of the syllabus mentioned above.

Study Objective:

At the end of the 3-semester course, the students will have reached approximately A1 (CEFR) (depending on the student´s mother tongue).
