Synopsis:

The second semester of the programme is designed to teach skills for basic communication in everyday situations and for reading easy and short subtechnical texts. Students will be able to communicate using short sentences and appropriate structures, and read aloud with confidence a short text without marked stress. They will also develop their vocabulary and master further grammatical structures. They will have mastered with confidence the Russian alphabet and will be able to use it in writing.

Requirements:

Knowledge acquired in course RZ1

Mastery of the material covered in the syllabus for the given semester.

Active participation in class.

Regular attendance, i.e. a maximum of 3 absences per semester (or 6 absences for beginner courses). In justified cases, absences are assessed individually.

Proper preparation for each class, even in the case of previous absences. Each absence must be made up for (e.g., with a written assignment).

Independent completion and timely submission of all written assignments.

Final semester test with a minimum score of 60%.

Without the express permission of the instructor, students may not use any aids during the test.

In case of failure, the credit test may be repeated once. If the student fails the credit test on the second attempt, they must re-enroll in the course in the following academic year.

Students may take the exam after completing

all courses and obtaining the relevant credits (5 courses at the Z level, 3 courses at the M and P levels). The exam consists of a written and an oral part.

The course is run as a series of seminars following the topics and scope of the syllabus mentioned above.

Study Objective:

Knowledge:

Knowledge of phonetics, morphology, syntax, and lexis at the level appropriate to the course, namely: further development of correct pronunciation of stressed and unstressed vowels, soft and hard consonants, intonation, shifting stress, reflective verbs, change of radical vowel in verbs,infinitive clause, declension of nouns, conjugation, ordinal numbers, vocabulary covering the topics of getting acquainted, friendly correspondence, free time, education, asking/telling the way in a town/city, shopping

Skills:

their application in everyday communication, namely: To communicate simply in everyday situations, read/understand short, simple texts, including sub-technical texts, speak correctly in short sentences without mistakes preventing comprehension, read aloud short text without marked stress, write Cyrillics, write about oneself and one´s wishes.
