The course is focused on the gradual acquisition of basic competencies needed for the active performance of the teaching profession, but also personal and civic life. Emphasis is placed on motivation for the teaching profession and the development of skills creating a quality, healthy, safe and fair educational environment in accordance with the Strategy of the educational policy of the Czech Republic until 2030+. The work in the subject builds on the elements of engaged learning.

The general aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of the specifics of the teaching profession with a focus on secondary school teachers. A partial goal is orientation in pedagogical documents and gaining security and legal awareness for the performance of the profession.
