- Petr Matějka, Jan Růžička, Josef Žák
- Tutor:
- Renáta Hoďánková, Pavel Chour
- Supervisor:
- Department of Construction Management and Economics
- Synopsis:
-
The course focuses on teaching basic knowledge in the field of Building Information Management (BIM) in theoretical and practical areas, applicable across different specialisations and disciplines of the construction industry. Students will be introduced to data formats, data standards, intellectual property issues, working with digitized documents, raster and vector graphics, open data sources in the Czech Republic, ICT and enterprise systems, information systems for the construction industry, but also the context of BIM in the current construction industry in relation to the entire project life cycle and its specifics (delivery, expert focus, phases of construction projects, etc. ) The theoretical knowledge is complemented by practical exercises aimed at mastering and understanding the basic principles of object-oriented parametric modelling.
- Requirements:
-
none
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
1) Digitalization and information systems in the construction industry.
2) Data formats (open, native, proprietary).
3) Data standards - data architecture and data models.
4) Data standards - specifications for civil and transportation engineering.
5) ICT and enterprise systems.
6) Data sources in the Czech Republic.
7) Graphics (vector, raster) and object oriented programming.
8) Intellectual property and project management.
9) Object databases, GIS, digital terrain model.
10) Use of data in the design phase (civil engineering, HVAC, utilities, civil engineering).
11) Data in the preparation and implementation of buildings.
12) Use of data in the operational phase of construction.
13) Digitization of the construction industry in the Czech Republic (current status, implementation process), basic information about international and Czech relevant institutions.
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
During the exercise, students work in programs used to prepare digital models of buildings. In these programs, they will try creating digital models, preparing individual parts of the building (foundations, walls, floors, fillings, stairs, roof, surrounding terrain), creating a statement of plans, export to IFC.
- Study Objective:
-
The aim is to familiarize students with the issue of digitalization of buildings, so that students acquire the terms used in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the application of ICT in construction. The lectures are focused on the theoretical part, where the Czech and international regulations related to digitization of buildings, principles of graphics, databases and data formats are explained. The aim of the exercises is to introduce students to the creation of information models and the aspects that the creation and subsequent work with these data brings.
