- Supervisor:
- Department of Concrete and Masonry Structures
- Synopsis:
-
Properties of concrete and reinforcement, interaction of concrete and reinforcement, behavior (static action) of concrete elements, ultimate limit states - bearing capacity of reinforced concrete cross-sections in bending, bearing capacity in shear, reinforcing principles for slabs and beams, elements under N+M, serviceability limit states. Masonry structures. Prestressed concrete.
- Requirements:
-
Basic knowledge of structural mechanics are required. Knowledge of methods for determining internal forces on basic structures with basic types of loads.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
Briefly describe the basic topics related to the design of concrete elements according to current trends and applicable standards.
The aim is to explain the basic terms and define the basic procedures for design of common reinforced concrete elements in structures.
Basic properties of concrete and concrete reinforcement.
Basic types of load-bearing elements in structures.
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
Task 1 - load - monolithic slab
Task 2 - load - precast structure
Task 3 - beam ceiling (slab, beam, masonry column, masonry wall)
Task 4 - MSP, deflection - limiting bending slenderness
- Study Objective:
-
To teach students about the tasks of engineer in static calculations and drawing documentation.
Show the methods of calculating the load effects on structures. To acquaint students with the principles of static action of structural elements and with simplified design procedures.
