- Synopsis:

The entrance requirement for the course is to achieve the B1 CEFR level. The objective of the course is revision of standard language structures, practicing more difficult grammar structures, understanding the fundamentals of technical language and training writing skills.

Due to the minimum number of students in intermediate and advanced courses of Russian, there are individual plans of study combining independent work (RP courses) with attending higher level courses for beginners (especially RM courses). Study plans for very advanced students are dealt with individually.

The course is run as a series of seminars following the topics and scope of the syllabus mentioned above.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of morphology, syntax, and lexis at the level appropriate to the course, namely: verb phrases, conjugation, declention of specific nouns, comparison of adjectives, modal expressions, imperative and conditional, conditional clauses, vocabulary covering the topics of weather, transporation, accomodation, food, ecology, higher education, holidays
Skills:
their application in everyday communication and in more professional contexts, namely:
to read/understand longer texts with a percentage of unfamiliar vocabulary, orally communicate fluently in everyday situations(food, travelling, free time), write a well organized text, communicate orally and in writing on less common topics (environment, addiction, the Green movement), fill in various forms, read timetables
To qualify for admission to the higher level course.
