Students will be acquainted with the basics of reliability theory and practical principles of reliability in the operation of aircraft and space technology.

1. The concept of ensuring the reliability of aircraft and space technology.
2. Mathematical foundations of probability theory, probabilistic reliability models of system components,
3. Tools of mathematical statistics for reliability theory, evaluation of censored observations.
4. Reliability calculation of complex systems.
5. FMEA, FMECA methods. Fault-free block diagrams (RBD).
6. Reliability of repaired systems. Space and State Method (SSM).
7. Reliability analyzes for certification purposes.
8. Evaluation of reliability tests and operational data. Software support in reliability.
9. Critical places of construction. Examples of faulty constructions in terms of reliability. Failure analysis of design variants. Numerical estimates of safety.
10. Strictly monitored sets of products. Incorporating inherent reliability into product development. Specificity of prototype operation.
11. Monitoring and evaluation of operational reliability of aircraft. Corrective measures, FRACAS method. Reliability growth. Reliability ramps. Influence of traffic intensity on fault intensity.
12. Flight safety and pilot rescue systems. Technical diagnostics of engines, airframes and aircraft systems.
13. Reliability tests. International reliability standards. Program and Reliability Plan.
