Synopsis:

The course is based on RZ2 and includes further everyday topics, develops understanding of short compact texts on new subtechnical topics (for training various forms of reading skills and listening) and introduces new grammar. Students will be trained to distinguish intonation patterns while listening to spoken language. They will be able to respond so as to be understood, and to express their opinion. Writing skills will be trained on guided writing tasks and note-taking.

Requirements:

Knowledge acquired in course RZ2

Mastery of the material covered in the syllabus for the given semester.

Active participation in class.

Regular attendance, i.e. a maximum of 3 absences per semester (or 6 absences for beginner courses). In justified cases, absences are assessed individually.

Proper preparation for each class, even in the case of

previous absences. Each absence must be made up for (e.g., with a written assignment).

Independent completion and timely submission of all written

assignments.

Final semester test with a minimum score of 60%.

Without the express permission of the instructor, students may not use any aids during the test.

In case of failure, the credit test may be repeated once. If the student fails the credit test on the second attempt, they must re-enroll in the course in the following academic year.

Students may take the exam after completing

all courses and obtaining the relevant credits (5 courses at the Z level, 3 courses at the M and P levels). The exam consists of a written and an oral part.

The course is run as a series of seminars following the topics and scope of the syllabus mentioned above.

Study Objective:

Knowledge:

Knowledge of phonetics, morphology, syntax, and lexis at the level appropriate to the course, namely: singular and plural of nouns in all genders, non-declention nouns, declention of adjectives and ordinal numbers, date, further verbs, conjunctions, modal expressions, vocabulary of shopping, tourism, getting acquainted, looks, dressing, character features

Skills:

their application in everyday communication and in more professional contexts, namely:

To distinguish intonation patterns in oral communication, to communicate gramatically correctly, express opinions, attitudes, inform about Prague, Moskow, St PetersbouTgh, about the Faculty and studies, describe the looks and character of the person
