Synopsis:

The course is focused on the basics of creating electronic documentation with emphasis on the creation of technical reports of a larger scope, typically final university theses. Students learn to create text of a technical report in the LaTeX system, process an electronic presentation using the LaTeX Beamer system, and practically present it in front of classmates and the teacher. The course is intended primarily for those students who have chosen the topic of their bachelor's thesis or will choose it within the first 14 days of teaching. Within the exercises of the course, an active approach to the creation of individual parts of the bachelor's thesis is assumed.

Requirements:

The course BIK-TDP is closely related to the bachelor's thesis. The condition for enrolling in the course is the chosen topic of the bachelor's thesis. Selected seminars will be devoted to the creation of individual parts of the bachelor's thesis. The course ends with a graded credit.

Syllabus of lectures:

The course is divided into five teaching blocks, which are based mainly on the active approach of students in the creation of the bachelor thesis:

1. Organisation and focus of the course, conditions for granting credit, content of lectures. Basics of typography, typesetting in LaTeX, thesis template.

2. Bachelor's thesis 1 – structure and formalization of the thesis, meaning and formulation of the introduction, aims and conclusion, literature research versus practical part of the thesis, discussion, appendices

3. Bibliographic citations according to ISO 690, direct quotation, paraphrase, plagiarism. Typesetting in LaTeX, BibTeX.

4. Bachelor's thesis 2 - meaning and formulation of keywords and abstract. Principles of presenting and creating a presentation.

5. Presentation of the position report on the bachelor thesis (elaborated BP).
