The subject describes the electrical and magnetic properties of metals and their alloys including superconductivity. Furthermore, electrical and optical properties of semiconductors, dielectrics and ferroelectrics and methods of their study are characterized.

6.Semiconductor physics - band structure, intrinsic vs. extrinsic behavior, electrical conductivity, PN transitions, transistors
7.Physics of dielectrics - types of polarization, susceptibility, permittivity, Kramers-Kronig relations, frequency dependence of dielectric constant, optical properties
8.Phase transitions, ferroelectrics
9.Photoelectric and surface properties of materials
10.2D materials, Dirac cone, graphene, Hausler alloys
11.X-ray, electron and neutron diffraction analysis of materials
12.Raman and infrared spectroscopy
13.Diagnostic methods of study of surface layers and nanostructures of materials.
