The goal of the subject is to familiarize students with institutions and industry connected with the nuclear energy production in the Czech Republic. The subject content is variable, according to the possibilities of the participating companies, but it always covers basic fields: (i) research, development and engineering (e.g. ÚJV a.s., CV Řež s.r.o., ÚJF AVČR, ŠKODA JS a.s.), (ii) fuel cycle (e.g. UJP PRAHA a.s., SÚRAO, ČEZ a.s.), (iii) electricity and heat production (ČEZ a.s.), (iv) radiation protection and oversight (SÚJB, SÚRO). The subject requires 5 full days, which are uniformly spread among semester and examination period.

Subject has variable structure and is given by the possibilities of the participating companies which are hosting excursions. Similarly, there exists not exact time schedule. The example of the standard subject content is following programme:
1.Temelín nuclear power plant: info centre, machinery hall, outside objects, training centre, discussions with employees.
2.Dukovany nuclear power plant: info centre, machinery hall, outside objects, training centre, discussions with employees.
3.Nuclear research institute, Research Centre, Nuclear physics institute Řež: overall presentation of the institutions, visit of the experimental hall, LVR-15, and LR-0 reactors, sometimes the working place of the cyclotron or radioactive waste storage.
4.Nuclear fuels institute, National radiation protection institute: general information, excursion to laboratories and experimental or monitoring facilities.
5.Škoda nuclear machinery: company introduction, visit of the hall for the control rod drives manufacture for VVER reactors, experimental halls with loops for drives testing, shredding machine and reactor hall.
