Synopsis:

The aim of the course is to master the basic tools, features and functions of ArchiCAD for construction and architectural design activities.

The course focuses on mastering the basics of working with parametric 3D objects for creating virtual buildings including terrain, furnishing objects, etc., modelling some atypical shapes, generating project documentation including photorealistic outputs (renders).

Requirements:

Compulsory and active participation in class, maximum 3 excused absences.

Handing in the semester work on time.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. ArchiCAD environment, navigation, creation of vertical walls, reference line, parameter transfer, 3D view

2. Sloping walls, user coordinate system, informer, columns, beams, windows, doors, manipulation of elements

3. Boards, magic wand, library (parametric) elements

4. Grouping elements, furniture layout, simple roofs, clipping walls with roofs, skylights

5. Roofs automatic, connecting walls to roof, terrain

6. Model of a simple house, quotation

7. Floors, copying of elements, transparencies, sections, views, 3D section, boundaries, stairs

8. Shells, morphs

9. Layers, user profiles of walls, beams and columns, solid operations, simple custom library element

10. Photorealistic views, sketches, lamps, materials

11. Zones, tables, lightweight envelope, archive files, BIM Explorer

12. Publishing project documentation to pdf files, plotter, printer

Study Objective:

The aim is to increase the competence of Architecture and Civil Engineering students in techniques for the design, processing and presentation of architectural design
