- Synopsis:
-
Studio work is the subject of an application in which students are combining the lessons learned from a wide spectrum of architectural disciplines with their own opinion and artistic creativity. In this third design studio students deal with various types of civil buildings with more complicated service and ambitious operation site with more complicated relationships. After a broad discussion, reflection and assessments of structures built on similar topics, students submit their own proposals in the form of architectural study.
- Requirements:
-
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS, GRAPHICS PROCESSING:
A joint drawing of the studio will be presented, containing assignments and mutual comparison of individual solutions - student work (overview material solution, unified view).
Format of submission of work: a sample layout with a uniform graphic will be delivered.
CONTENTS OF DOCUMENTATION:
PERSPECTIVE
The main perspective shot from the horizon of a person capturing the connection to the surroundings, supplemented by partial shots, documenting the object.
Prefer drawing to photo (as main or partial perspective), same shot for all projects.
SOLUTION CONCEPT
Graphically expressed solution concept.
SITUATION, M1:200-1:250
Drawn as a view of the roof with an expression of the plasticity of the object, greenery, etc. (shading), it also contains contour lines (modified terrain), roads and paved areas, a simple design of greening (low and high greenery), ground floor solutions (surfaces), utility networks (schematically ). It is necessary to indicate the main overall dimensions of the building and the land, mark the main entrances and entrances, the cardinal directions, the location of the perspective shot, a description of the objects, equipment and surfaces on the land being dealt with.
FLOOR PLANS OF INDIVIDUAL FLOORS (detail M1:100)
Detailed solution including equipment (furniture, furnishings, etc.), construction system (separate construction diagram), description of rooms, basic dimensions of the building. (overall, not detailed). The detail of the floor plans will correspond to a scale of 1:100, in the resulting presentation it is possible to present a typical floor plan in 1:100, the remaining floor plans using a proportional scale in a smaller scale (e.g. M1:150).
CONSTRUCTION DIAGRAM
Documenting the main supporting structure of a typical floor with marking of the stress directions of ceiling structures, consoles, modules, contours of the lower and upper floors. According to the attached pattern.
SECTIONS (detail M1:100)
Display of supporting and perimeter structure, original and modified terrain, basic height dimensions. (floor levels, roof ridge, modified terrain, etc.).
VIEWS (detail M1:100)
Basic views, 1 view in color variants with a description of surfaces and materials, views discussed with details corresponding to the scale (main division of surfaces, walls, shading, landscaping, possibly greenery.).
COVER TEXT MESSAGE
Description of the idea and architectural solution of the object, its justification and description of the location of the object in relation to the surroundings, description of volume, layout, structural and architectural solution, simplified calculation of the land area, built-up area and built-up area of the object.
ENERGY AND SUSTAINABILITY
Beyond the framework, it is possible to process a simplified „Energy label“ of the object (using e.g. a web form) with a graphic output of the energy label with the building's rating. It is appropriate for the elements to appear in the projects in a simplified form: rainwater storage, PV panels, shielding, realistic proportions of thermal insulation (pedagogues will help).
MODEL
Models of the proposed objects will be submitted, ideally from uniform materials within the studio.
SKETCH
The sketchbook is part of the submission – documentation of the creation process, processed in presentation quality.

- Study Objective:
-
The goal of studio creation 3 is to teach students to work on larger-scale projects with several operating units. It also includes an urban solution to the problem, which can be solved in groups (with respect to the scope). For this, a thorough analysis of the location is required, which should give students a comprehensive view of the given location. Part of the subject is the monitoring of current, contemporary, high-quality architecture.
A mandatory part is the use of BIM software.
