Garant předmětu:
Tomáš Čejka, Jiří Witzany
Lecturer:
Tomáš Čejka, Jiří Witzany
Tutor:
Tomáš Čejka, Aneta Libecajtová, Jiří Witzany
Supervisor:
Department of Architectural Engineering
Synopsis:

In the lecture series, students are introduced to issues related to the protection of (not only) historic and heritage-protected buildings. In particular, these are defects and failures of buildings, load effects and influences from the point of view of load history; non-force effects and influences, effects of forced deformation; durability and reliability; mechanical, physical, chemical degradation and corrosion processes; failures , reconstruction and rehabilitation of foundation structures, brick structures, concrete structures (reinforced concrete), prefabricated structures, wooden structures of buildings, protection of buildings against increased humidity and diagnostics of buildings.

Requirements:

Building Structures (124PSI1)

Syllabus of lectures:

Degradation processes, defects and failures of buildings, load effects and influences, non-force and cyclic effects

Mechanisms of failure of building materials and structures. Interaction of structures and materials.

Surveys, diagnosis and evaluation of structures - structural and technical survey of buildings.

Rehabilitation and protection of damp masonry of historic brick buildings, sources and causes of increased humidity in buildings

Establishment of historic brick buildings, characteristic faults, reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Vertical historical load-bearing masonry structures, characteristic faults, reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Vaulted historical structures, static action, characteristic faults, reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Wooden ceiling structures of historic brick buildings, characteristic faults, reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Historic flat vaults and ceramic ceilings, structural static solutions, rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Historic half-timbered and timber buildings, characteristic faults, reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Roofs of historic buildings, static action, characteristic faults, reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Characteristic defects and failures of historical concrete and reinforced concrete structures, rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Characteristic defects and failures of historical steel structures, rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Familiarization with the organization of exercises and the method of assigning partial term assignments.

2. Selection and assignment of the structure/theme of the term work to individual groups of students, selection of a suitable object.

3. - 12. Elaboration and continuous consultation of the given topic.

13. Presentation of final term work, submission of final work

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to acquaint the student with the complex issue of failures , rehabilitation and reconstruction of building structures and their parts. As part of the lecture cycle, students will be introduced to the issue of degradation of building materials, load effects and influences, issues of defects and failures of individual types of building constructions. In addition, the lectures will focus on surveys and evaluation of the construction and technical condition of the buildings, analysis of the causes of failures and, subsequently, suitable remedial measures.
