Subject goal is to explain to students the basic principles of operation, design principles, testing and operation and maintenance of aircraft piston engines.

3.Performance and characteristics of piston powerplants

4.Materials used for piston aircraft engines design

5.Powerplants design

6.Engines installations and equipment

7.Fuel systems of aircraft equipped with piston engines

8.Electrical systems of piston aircraft

9.Engine nacelles, engine cowlings of piston powered aircraft

10.Propellers for piston engines

11.Piston engines testing

12.Operation and maintenance of piston engines

13.Up to date piston engines, development, trends, new projects, technologies.

1. Literature and web Research ? diesel piston aircraft engines

2. Piston engine selection, engine replacement for twin engine

3.Engine characteristics, data definition and calculation for aircraft performance analysis

4. Propeller selection and definition for piston engine

5. Engine mount proposal

6. Piston engine Endurance test. Program proposal.

7. Altitude characteristics and cooling test. Flight test program proposal.
