Synopsis:

Building information model (BIM) - basic principles of creating a building information model in the field of civil engineering, specifics of BIM modeling.

The subject uses the Autodesk Revit software base.

Building information model in the life cycle of the building - information required during the design part, during construction and during use of the finished building.

Requirements:

basic knowledge of building structures, knowledge of drawing construction drawings

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Introduction to the subject and to BIM, basic concepts, collaboration, data transfer/sharing, BIM in the construction life cycle, history and future of BIM

2. Analyzes in BIM

3. Facility Management

4. BIM and Building services Engineering

5. Management and economics in BIM

6. BIM and Road structures

Syllabus of tutorials:

1 Revit interface - basic introduction, Parametric modeling - principles (graphical and non graphical properties of elements)

2. Project browser - views, levels, wall and column - structural and architectural, using grids,

3. Type and instance properties. Walls - compound, stacked.

4. Doors and windows, families - basic information. Components.

5. Floors and ceillings, openings in vertical elements

6. Stairs and ramp

7. Mass in site - modelling of conceptual mass, wall by face, roof by face, Curtain walls - elements, curtain grid systems,

8. Roofs - by foot print, by extrusion

9. Annotations - text, dimensions, details, rooms, shedules

10.Sheets - project documentation, export from Revit - PDF, DWG...

11.Modelling of terrain

12. Sun analysis, walkthrough, export to IFC

Mastering in Revit, using Revit in buildings praxis.
