- Supervisor:
- Department of Architectural Engineering
- Synopsis:
-
Converting an architectural study of a smaller or medium-sized building for housing, administration, education, culture or sports into a detailed design of a building structure based on static analysis, interaction of load-bearing and non-load-bearing elements and building physics. Focus on complex approach to practical design, analysis and optimalization of a building structures. Design of variants of the load-bearing system, preliminary static analysis (calculation of load-bearing elements - slabs, columns, walls, etc), calculation of foundations, design of structures on the building envelope with respect to thermal protection of buildings, building physics, fire protection of buildings and protection against water and soil moisture. Elaboration of detailed drawings including floor plans, sections and details.
- Requirements:
-
Passed exam of 124PSI2 - Building Structures 2.
Fulfillment of the requirements according to the lecturer's instructions.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
There are no lectures.
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
1. Design of the load-bearing system of the building - 2 variants with description (min. 2 floor plans for each), following the overall analysis of the requirements for the building, including the conceptual design of the building envelope structures and their basic thermal-technical assessment.
2. Conceptual design of the solution of key construction details for the chosen variant of the load-bearing system.
3. More detailed solution of the main parts of the load-bearing structure of the building.
4. Floor plan of a typical floor 1:50
5. Design of the foundation structures of the building 1:100
6. Floor plan of the next floor as specified by the teacher 1:50/1:100 (basement, entrance floor)
7. Cross section through the building 1:50, led through a staircase + composition of horizontal structures.
8. Three construction details assigned by the teacher (1:5 or 1:2), based on the conceptual design of key details from the initial design of the building.
9. Roof view 1:100
10. View of the facade (technical) 1:100
11. Situation 1:500 (including the solution of the surrounding areas, connected to the surrounding development)
12. Technical report
13. Completion of the project, finalization.
- Study Objective:
-
By completing the Structural Design, Project 1, the student acquires a comprehensive approach to the building design in accordance with current knowledge and regulations and the ability to perceive the issue of building's design in a broader context.
