Synopsis:

Independent work on a given topic in the field of technical building equipment. In consultation with the project supervisor, students choose a topic from the offered areas or themes that they would like to explore and prepare a text, calculation, and graphic section that describes the solution to the given problem.

Requirements:

Fulfillment of all duties forseen in the study guide.

Syllabus of lectures:

Syllabus of tutorials:

1 Introduce students to the project goals, requirements, and working methods. The use of modern tools for designing technical building systems in the form of computer programs is expected. Select a project supervisor based on their specialization and the topic of the work. Present the project topics.

2 Preparation of a general plan for building technical systems. Single-line or double-line diagram of the distribution system with basic elements marked.

3 Completion of the general plan for building technical systems.

4 Review of the general plan to verify completion of the assigned work and provide feedback to students from instructors. Coordination of solutions with regard to other construction professions.

5 Solution for the selected building technical systems profession - water supply, rainwater and sewage drainage, heating, ventilation, cooling.

6 Basic design of the profession, selection of technical solutions, and determination of requirements for the profession.

7 Design of main distribution routes - horizontal and vertical distribution. Coordination with the construction and architectural design of the building.

8 Detailed design of the main distribution routes, determination of dimensions and verification of the feasibility of the solution.

9 Detailed solution of individual parts of the profession - design of main technical elements - sources, technical rooms.

10 Detailed solution for individual parts of the profession - connecting pipes, end elements.

11 Completion of the profession, coordination of the solution, preparation of a graphic solution.

12 Completion of the profession, coordination of the solution, preparation of the text part of the solution.

13 Checking the fulfillment of the set project goals and providing feedback for the completion of the project.

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to teach students how to design technical building systems that are essential for the overall energy performance of a building. As part of the course, students complete an independent project focused on technical building equipment. Within the framework of the project, they design systems with regard to their energy performance, environmental impact, sustainability, and other parameters. The most suitable solution for the selected profession is then used in a detailed solution. The project addresses renewable energy sources, ecological building systems, waste heat utilization, building ventilation, and related systems. It is important to understand the connections with other professions that influence the overall design of the building.
