Aesthetics and its basic concepts. Art history: definitions, terminology, division into periods. Architecture, fine arts, design in Europe and America in the course of centuries. Situation in Central Europe, Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic. Art Nouveau, Cubism, Postmodernism in industrial buildings and transportation facilities. Stations, bridges, embankments, sluices etc. Aesthetics and construction work today. Design of transport vehicles.
