Synopsis:

The study follows after the master course. Design of the bridge, concept of the design, selection of the structural system, design of bearing and non-bearing elements of the bridge. Function of the structure and interaction with the construction process. Verification of serviceability and ultimate limit states, Requirements on durability and robustness. Prestressing and protection of prestressing steel. New materials and their application. Technologies of construction and their evaluation. Integral bridges, bridges made of high-perfrmance materials. Specifications of cable stayed and suspension bridges. Equipment applied in advanced bridge construction. Evaluation of construction stages.
