This course is also part of the Jean Monnet „European Economics“ Project and provides an introduction to the problems of technical standardization generally and technical standardization in European national corporations since year 1914. This is folowed by the study of Czech national standardization - evolution and trends and the foundation of the International Standardization Association ISA in Prague in 1921. The lecture course continues with the history of technical standardization in Europe between 1921 and 1945, the foundation of CEN and CENELEC, the role of CEN, strategies for the future and national CEN members. <br><br>\r\nThe course deals with the foundation, structure and activities of the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and of national organizations for standardization in European countries (DIN, ON, CSN, etc.). The course goes on to look at agreements in the area of technical standards, industrial law, agreements of property owners, agreements on co-operation, license agreements, economic competition and how standards are prepared, technical committees, national Standard Bodies and CEN/CENELEC, publications and documents, the structure of the Central Secretariat, the structure of CEN, Technical Boards, certification and conformity to European Standards, harmonization of CSN.
