Variational principles of solid mechanics used in Finite element method.\r\nTypes of finite elements and their aplicability in different problems.\r\nShape functions for selected elements. Generation of the finite element\r\nmodel. Direct generation, meshing of solid models. Boundary conditions and\r\nloads. Methods for solving large systems of algebraic equations.\r\nPreprocessor, solution pass, postprocessor. Numerical integration.\r\nSelected problems from solid mechanics. Compression-tension element,\r\nKirchhoff's and Mindlin theory of plates, plane element, shell element,\r\nmembrane and solid elements.
