Synopsis:

The course covers the basic principles of radiation protection. It describes not only the current approaches but also points to future developments. The course is accepted as training, which allows obtaining special competence in radiation protection and learner receives appropriate certificate.

Requirements:

Completion of the exam from the subject is conditioned by successful completion of the subjects 16ZRIZ, 16ZDOZN2, 16URF2 and 16DETE.

Sources of ionizing radiation, interaction of the radiation with the matter

Basics of dozimetry, units and quantities.

Sources of ionizing radiation, interaction of the radiation with the matter.

Detection precipices for ionizing radiation.

1.-2. Effects of ionizing radiation on cells, tissue and organisms

3.-8. Assessment of the doses in radiation protection

9.-10. Limitation of exposure, reference levels

11. Protection measures (distance, time, shielding).
