Synopsis:

The course is aimed for students, employees of the Faculty and the public whose knowledge of English corresponds to B1 level according to the European Language Frame.

The course focuses on improving all language skills - writing, speaking, reading, listening, grammar and phonetics - and is submitted to the goal of obtaining the required skills needed for B2 ELF.

Students are expected to attend classes, work actively during lessons and prepare independently their home assignments, including essays.

They are due to take three tests and get at least 65% of total points.

Other requirements will be specified in detail by the teacher during the first lesson of the term. The teacher is allowed to supplement or change his/her requirements or programme of the lessons.

Reading: Identity crisis, Speaking, Vocabulary: phrasal verbs with come

Week 2 Who are you again

Grammar: modal verbs, Vocabulary: useful phrases, Speaking

Week 3 Who are you again

Vocabulary: expressions with mind, Use of English

Week 4 Who are you again

Listening: multiple choice, Grammar: reflexive pronouns, Writing: informal email

Week 5 Say what you mean

Listening, Vocabulary: say, speak, talk, tell

Week 6 Say what you mean

Grammar: pronouns, Speaking: interview, Key word transformation

Week 7 Say what you mean

Reading: Inside a dogś world, Vocabulary: idioms-animals, Speaking

Week 8 Say what you mean

Grammar: subject/verb agreement, Use of English
