- Synopsis:

The course is devoted to the issue of man in social situations. Students will get acquainted with basic socio-psychological knowledge that is directly or indirectly related to the teacher's activities. The dynamics of small social groups and interactions are studied, as well as issues related to communication (basics of communication, types of communication). Attention is paid to attitudes and their creation, conflicts and their solutions. Another important topic is the socialization of personality and social role. The acquisition of this knowledge at the theoretical level is associated with references to their application in the practice of teachers, especially in terms of individual approach to students, teamwork and contacts with the general public.

Attitudes, stereotypes, prejudices
Social facilitation, cooperation and competition - group phenomena
Prosocial behavior and aggression
Conformity, bystander effect and warning experiments with human indifference and obedience
Conflicts and ways to resolve them
Structure and dynamics of a small group

Students will be introduced to general social psychological concepts, that are interrelated with pedagogical work. The theoretical ground is connected with examples showing their application in practice, especially concerning team work and both closer and wider interpersonal network.
