Synopsis:

The course allows the students to discover some of the evolution of economic theory. This history can help them to learn about the way in which economic enquiry can be successfully undertaken, how to reflect and inspire in what methodology can be used to further and speed up gathering and understanding of economic knowledge.

2.Classical Greece and the Absence of Romans

3.The Old Testament and The Christian Early Thoughts

4.Thomas Aquinas and the Scholastics

5.John Calvin and the Reformers

6.Absolutists and Mercantilists

7.Physiocrats, Test 1

8.Philosophers of Natural Law and Scottish Enlightenment

9.Adam Smith and Classical Liberalism

10.The Marginalist Revolution and its children

11.John Maynard Keynes and Contra-Keynesian

12. The contemporary theories

13. Test 2 and the Presentation of working papers

Study Objective:

The course enables students to gain the necessary overview of general economic principles, master the necessary terminology, and learn to structure thinking about economic problems.
