Synopsis:

The course introduces students into creating technical and professional documents on computers or Web and into realizing technical computations with the use of computers. Students gain practical skills by creating an essay in a text editor, by realizing technical computations with a spreadsheet calculator, and by creating technical-based WWW page.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Basic work with text editors.

2. Working with editor of mathematical formulas and their introduction into documents.

3. Making final version of the technical essay.

4. Introduction to technical and scientific computations via computers.

5. Solving some technical problems via spreadsheets.

6. Making final version of the technical-based project with graphs and computations.

7. Introduction into WWW, key information WWW resources.

8. Searching of technical information in electronic documents.

9. Introduction to publishing on WWW.

10. Basic tags in creating WWW pages.

11. Advanced tags in creating WWW pages.

12. Creating of basic WWW documents.

13. Making final version of the WWW page.

14. Checking tasks and assessment.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Checking student network accounts and computer lab software. Electronic email.

Essay or professional Technical Article with predefined structure.

Scientific-Technological calculations and data visualization.

Searching for information on a particular topic using faculty library resources.

A Web page.

Finishing a web page, publishing the web page on the web, and its evaluation.

Evaluation of assignments,

Final test.

Study Objective:
