Urban drainage: methods and tools in urban drainage, integral conception of the urban environment and landscape, understanding the context and designing measures for long-term sustainability of urban water management and environmental protection.
Ecotoxicology: basic toxicological and ecological concepts in theory and practice. Groups of substances of toxicological and ecotoxicological significance present in different environmental compartments.

Urban drainage:
1. The field of urban drainage, Urbanization and the development of urban drainage concepts, integrated solutions. Basic water management tasks. Basic tools.
2. Wastewater production, wastewater composition. Rainfall and rainfall data in urban hydrology.
3. Stormwater runoff from urbanized areas. Pollution of stormwater runoff. Measurement and monitoring. Basics of modelling, Simulation models. Model and data requirements.
4. Watercourses in urbanised catchments.
5. Rainwater catchment protection measures. Other treatments for stormwater runoff.
6. Measures for the protection of the receiving waters: stormwater management I
7. Measures to protect the receiving waters: stormwater management II

Ecotoxicology:
1. Basic concepts in toxicology and ecotoxicology, factors affecting the concentration of a pollutant in the environment, factors affecting the effect of a pollutant, interaction of a pollutant with an organism
2. Hazardous substances in the environment in general: according to the organic - inorganic types, sources, uses, significance
3. Toxicological assessment, toxicity, ecotoxicity, bioaccumulation tests and their use in practice, risk assessment, legislation
4. Pesticides
5. Hydrocarbons (petroleum, PAHs, PCBs, dioxins)
6. Detergents, emerging pollutants (pharmaceuticals, microparticles in cosmetics)
7. Plastics
8. Heavy metals
9. Air pollutants of concern: major air pollutants, sources, emission control measures, measurement methods; water pollutants of concern: sources, distribution, bioavailability, methods of analysis for inorganic and organic substances
10. (Un)healthy indoor environment.
