Synopsis:

The course is focused on essentials of computer networks and practice with network technologies. The course corresponds to the Cisco Netacad curriculum, CCNA1 - R&S Introduction to Networks.

Requirements:

Teaching is organized in the blended-distance form, where each student first performs self-study of electronic materials in English language and then applies the acquired knowledge by solving tasks in labs.

The requirement to get an assessment is a successful accomplishment of the CCNA1 final test and the final lab.

Syllabus of tutorials:
Study Objective:

The goal of the BI-ST1 course is to develop student's knowledge and skills in security and access technologies used in small to medium-sized computer networks. Students will get acquainted with basic philosophy, architecture, functionality, and methods used during creation, operation, and management of computer networks focusing on the reference ISO/OSI model and the TCP/IP protocol family. Students will be able to design and assess a system of structured cabling depending on the specific Ethernet technology and simple computer network based on the chosen standard. They will also be able to create addressing and sub-networks in the IPv4 environment.
