Synopsis:

The aim of the course is to deepen students' knowledge in the field of design of reinforced concrete structures at MSU in connection with the FSTC course. The subject content includes the problems of superimposition of slabs with one-way and two-way tension, principles of design of staircases, stiffening walls, masonry structures, foundations, retaining walls, prefabricated structures, halls and prestressed concrete. Serviceability limit states. Introduction to the design of civil engineering structures and bridges.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Repetition, materials, design of reinforced concrete elements for bending moment and shear effects

2. Design of reinforced concrete slab for the effects of combined bending and torsional moment at a point

3. Design of a reinforced concrete slab of general plan considering extrusion

4. Design of a general shaped reinforced concrete wall

5. Plasticity theory and its application to reinforced concrete structures

6. Deformation of reinforced concrete structures

7. Analysis of reinforced concrete structures using calculation programs

8. Strut-and-tie models, principle and examples

9.-13. Concrete for hydraulic structures

Study Objective:
