Synopsis:

Basic properties of the concrete components and their influence on the concrete properties are presented. Furthermore, destructive and non-destructive testing methods for concrete and reinforced concrete elements are introduced. The last chapters of the lectures are devoted to the real applications of concrete structures.

The theoretical lectures are accompanied by exercises, where the students have the unique opportunity to try out the acquired knowledge in laboratory, including special tests.

Requirements:

Performing and evaluation of laboratory tests. Submission of laboratory protocols. Completion of the test with a rate higher than 60 %.

Destructive testing of fresh and hardened concrete

Durability and applications of concrete structures
