Synopsis:

Students learn the presentation side of web technologies. They understand the principles of proper (X)HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript design. They are able to use the multimedia elements that can be used on the Web, such as raster graphics, video and 3D graphics. They gain a professional-level ability to design and implement the complete presentation side of a web application.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Fundamentals of the Internet, architecture of Internet applications, HTTP.

2. [2] HTML.

3. Document style definition, document layout principles, CSS standard.

4. Simple client-side application, JavaScript, examples of Java applets.

5. Advanced JavaScript techniques.

6. Graphics for the web, processing of photographs and images.

7. Introduction to the XML standard, basic concepts and principles.

8. XML and XSLT.

9. Graphics formats, color models.

10. Video processing, tools, examples of their use.

11. 3D worlds on the web, VRML.

12. Server-side web applications, tools and programming languages for creating dynamic content.

13. Reserved.

After completing this module, students gain a professional-level ability to design and implement the complete presentation side of a web application.
