- Synopsis:
-
The lecture gives basic information about the system categorisation in nuclear power plants according to importance to nuclear safety (IAEA,IEC and IEEE standards). Single failure criterion, availability requirements, redundancy, independence, diversity and defence in depth are discussed in detail. Requirements and design principals for safety and control systems of nuclear devices are discussed. Qualification requirements and methods are provided. The specific requirements on research reactors control and safety systems according to nuclear safety are also studied.
