- Synopsis:
-
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the practical implementation of control algorithms and their supporting functions. This is demonstrated not only by using experimental tuning methods for setting the parameters of controllers available on the market, but also by implementing their own control algorithm into a PLC. Students will also gain knowledge about procedures leading to the evaluation of the quality of control and algorithms that automatically adjust the parameters of controllers so that the quality of control is maintained.
- Requirements:
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
industrial PID controller, implementation, additional functions of industrial PID controllers,
experimental methods of tuning PID controllers,
discretization, implementation of the control algorithm in discrete time,
stability, dynamics, frequency properties of the discrete algorithm,
control quality, control quality indicators, continuous evaluation of control quality
two- and three-position controllers, tuning of two- and three-position controllers,
self-tuning algorithms for controllers, self-tuning algorithms requiring disconnection of the control loop, self-tuning algorithms operating in a closed control loop.
