The course will show how to use data to monitor or control manufacturing processes. The course has three basic blocks focused on the description and modeling of manufacturing systems, the collection and analysis of data from manufacturing systems, and the data-driven optimization and control of manufacturing systems.

Description of technical systems and their representation in the AutomationML data format
Modeling and digital twins of technical systems - digital twin and digital shadow
Simulation of complex systems and simulation tools
Advanced communication protocols (Information models and OPC UA, heterogeneity and interoperability)
Databases for production data collection, cloud and edge systems and devices
Data analytics and its use in production systems
Statistics for quality management, control diagrams and their importance
Anomaly detection and machine learning for quality management
Predictive maintenance
Orchestration and control of production systems, MES/MOM production management systems
