Synopsis:

The student will become familiarboth theoretically and especially practicallywith activation methods used in science education, their significance, and their effective implementation in the teaching and learning process. Based on the instructional objective, the student selects an appropriate activation method and designs a segment of a lesson, including its reflection and evaluation.

Definition and concept of activation methods in the context of science education

The relationship between educational objectives and the chosen method

Comparison of activation methods and traditional teaching approaches in mathematics, physics, and chemistry; the CMIARE cycle

Effective individual, group, and cooperative student work

Limitations and challenges of activation methods

Discussion-based methods and methods that support communicative competence

Heuristic methods and methods that support problem-solving competence

Inquiry-based science education

Situational methods and methods that support social and personal competence

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to acquaint future teachers with a variety of student activation tools, their potential and limitations, and the appropriate use of individual methods in educational practice.
