Synopsis:

The course is intended for students of mathematics teaching. After reviewing selected parts of university mathematics, the student will propose didactic transformations of various advanced topics for use in high school in specific applications, e.g. in the field of financial mathematics, geometry, combinatorial problems, etc. The emphasis is also placed on interdisciplinary connections. The student will gain an overview useful, among other things, for motivating highschool students, teaching mathematical topics and developing fundamental competencies. The course will also include seminars with experts.

Requirements:

Active participation. Homework preparation. Presentation of a paper with a didactic transformation of the selected topic.

Study Objective:

The student has a basic understanding of advanced areas of mathematics, is able to select basic ideas from them that can be used in high school teaching. He/she is able to carry out didactic transformation of topics and also uses interdisciplinary overlaps to enrich and motivate teaching.
