This course is designed for students in teacher education and introduces methods of working with ICT and their application in teaching mathematics, physics, chemistry, and natural sciences in general, taking into account the students specialization. In addition to familiarizing students with current ICT options, the course strengthens their competencies in digital technologies and communication.

Credit will be awarded for the preparation of one lesson incorporating ICT support.

Definition of ICT and its importance in modern society
ICT tools for teaching (smartboards, mobile phones, tablets, etc.)
ICT applications by specialization creating and processing graphs
Dynamic geometry software
Audio and video in science education (including production and editing)
School measurement systems: Pasco, Vernier, and ISES
Measurement using mobile phones (tablets), remote experiments
Virtual and augmented reality in natural science education
PhET simulations, ChemSketch, and other educational software

The student becomes familiar with current possibilities for using information and communication technologies (ICT) in teaching. The student gains an overview of commonly available school hardware and software applicable to education. The student is able to utilize modern technology and software for creating study materials and teaching aids, as well as for conducting lessons, including the ability to lead distance learning.
