Synopsis:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the fundamental types of experiments and their effective integration into secondary school physics instruction. The course also introduces the technical equipment of the physics laboratory and preparation room. Pre-service teachers will learn to prepare, appropriately incorporate into lessons, and clearly explain core experiments in mechanics, oscillations and waves, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, and optics.

The Practicum in School Physics Experiments complements the theoretical foundations provided in Physics Didactics 1 and Physics Didactics 2.

Requirements:

Presentation on selected topic.

1.Legislation, laboratory safety, and equipment; first aid

2.The role of experimentation in physics education

3.Demonstration and student-led experiments in mechanics

4.Demonstration and student-led experiments in thermodynamics and heat

5.Demonstration and student-led experiments in oscillations, waves, and acoustics

6.Demonstration and student-led experiments in electricity and magnetism

7.Demonstration and student-led experiments in optics
