- Synopsis:
-
MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notation. The subject 'Introduction to MATLAB' provides basic knowledge about the Matlab system which can help students to solve problems in many branches and other subjects. During the classes, the commands for basic operations with scalars and vectors, using scripts and functions, including functions with variable number of parameters, cycles for and while and command if and switch are introduced to students. These functions are then used to solve systems of linear equations and calculation of value of inverse matrix. To show the results students are introduced to drawing 2D and 3D graphs, including manipulation with individual graphical objects. Two toolboxes are explained: Simulink for solving differential equations and systems of differential equation and symbolic toolbox for analytical solutions of equations.
