The course is linking up with FZ1. Elementary linguistic knowledge and communication skills are expanded. The scope is given by lessons 8 - 13 of the textbook: Pravda - Pravdová : French for Beginners . Additional topics and skills are filled in from the textbook Espaces I, lesson 1 - 5 (introductions, invitation, welcoming, agreement - disagreement, apology, thanking, travelling, map of France, food, expression of will, wish, order, prohibition, pleasure). Correct pronunciation is practiced. Stress on oral communication.
Specific topics covered: How does the machine work? A few expressions concerning the study. Name of University and Faculty.

Linguistic knowledge and competence at level FZ1.
To get evaluation:
Mastery of the material covered in the syllabus for the given semester.
Active participation in class.
Regular attendance, i.e. a maximum of 6 absences. In justified cases, absences are assessed individually.
Proper preparation for each class, even in the case of previous absences. Each absence must be made up for (e.g., with a written assignment).
Independent completion and timely submission of all written assignments.
Final semester test with a minimum score of 60%.
Without the express permission of the instructor, students may not use any aids during the test.
In case of failure, the credit test may be repeated once. If the student fails the credit test on the second attempt, they must re-enroll in the course in the following academic year.
Students may take the exam after completing all courses and obtaining the relevant credits (5 courses). The exam consists of a written and an oral part.

Functions, situations, topics: introductions, invitation, greetings, agreement - disagreement, will, order, obligation, prohibition, excuse, apology, thanking, travelling, buying tickets, making reservation in a hotel, geography of France, numbers, time and date, daily routine.
Language structures: regular, irregular verbs, past tense passé composé, simple future. Time expressions for the past and future. Purpose (pour + inf), abbreviation of object clauses (de + inf).
Further topics: food, clothes, How does the machine work? expressions for the topic „Study at our faculty“.
The course covers lessons 8 - 13 of the textbook French for beginners is expanded by lessons 5 - 10 of textbook Espace 1.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of phonetics, morphology, syntax, lexis and orthography at the level appropriate to the course, namely:
Further knowledge of elementary grammar structures, vocabulary, current idioms and phrases. Pronunciation and spelling.
Skills:
Understanding and communicating simply in further elementary situations, on chosen topics and using simple language functions (asking/giving information about place, time, quantity,travelling, future plans, past actions). Dialogue and monologue.
Meeting the requirements for advance to a higher level course.
