Synopsis:

Subject objective is to acquaint the students with basic principles of pharmacology and toxicology.

The main focus in pharmacology is on general principles of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and then systematically on main drug groups crucial in the pre-hospital and hospital emergency care, that affect vital functions and individual organ systems. The main accent is on the understanding of underlying mode of action and principles of appropriate and safe use and dosage.

Toxicology deals with the negative influence of chemical compounds and mixtures on living organisms. Students are acquainted with most important chemical compounds capable of intoxication induction and with key principles of intoxication therapy. The main objective of the general part is to elucidate the fate of chemical compound within the organism and to familiarize with the clinical manifestations of intoxication. In the specialised part, toxins and poisons leading to the most common intoxications and most dangerous are emphacised.

Requirements:

Requirements: knowledge within the scope of presented lectures and reference literature.

Examination of study results: successful passing the written test (multiple choice test) during the examination period. Test question themes correspond to topics presented in the lectures. Test contains 40 test questions in total.

Evaluation of the test:

40 - 38 correct answers = 1 (A)

37 - 35 correct answers = 1,5 (B)

34 - 31 correct answers = 2 (C)

30 - 27 correct answers = 2,5 (D)

26 - 22 correct answers = 3 (E)

21 and less correct answers = 4 (F)

Obecná farmakologie, základy farmakokinetiky a farmakodynamiky.

Léky ovlivňující vegetativní nervový systém. Léky ovlivňující CNS.

Celková anestetika, lokální anestetika, myorelaxancia.

Farmakoterapie bolesti analgetika.

Léky ovlivňující kardiovaskulární systém, hemostázu a trombózu.

Léky ovlivňující gastrointestinální systém. Léky ovlivňující respirační systém.

Léčiva ovlivňující imunitní systém. Hormonální léčiva, farmakoterapie diabetu.

Základy racionální farmakoterapie v PNP. Infuzní léčba, oxygenoterapie.

Farmakoterapie vybraných akutních stavů v PNP.

Obecná toxikologie. Intoxikace léky a návykovými látkami.

Inhalační intoxikace. Intoxikace kyselinami a louhy. Intoxikace alkoholy.

Intoxikace těžkými kovy. Intoxikace pesticidy. Methemoglobinizující látky.

Intoxikace houbami. Intoxikace rostlinami. Intoxikace živočichy.

Zásady terapie intoxikací, detoxikace, nespecifická a specifická terapie, eliminační metody.
