Synopsis:

The subject deals with project management, its meaning, concept and tools. Emphasis is placed on resource planning, assignment of resources to tasks, duration and its change, further monitoring of project progress, reorganization (replanning) of unfinished work, etc.). The subject also includes display and visualization of the project, formatting of tables and graphs, form displays, calendar display, network diagram, resource diagram, custom display options, etc. Students also process a fictitious project using current software tools to support project management.

During the seminars, students apply knowledge from the lectures, especially for the project planning stage (i.e. the pre-project phase and partly the project phase of the project). As part of the seminar, projects of a smaller scale will be solved, on which students apply selected techniques according to IPMA.

Requirements:

Požadavky ke klasifikovanému zápočtu:

-aktivní účast na seminářích,

-vypracování souvislé úlohy – „Návrh a management projektu“ a jeho úspěšná obhajoba, za souvislou úlohu lze získat max. 50 bodů;

-písemný test koncipovaný na základě látky z přednášek – max. 50 bodů;

-jsou povoleny maximálně 2 absence na seminářích

Výsledná známka se skládá ze součtu bodů z projektu a z písemného testu, tj. 100 bodů=100 %, výsledná klasifikace se udělí dle stupnice ECTS.

Syllabus of lectures:

• Introductory class. The essence of project management. Basic terms for project management. Objectives, scope, benefits and risks. Project phases.

• Project life cycle, milestones in project management. Project management standards (Prince 2, PMBOK, etc.). Logical framework method. The importance of the planning stage.

• Methods and tools of project time planning, WBS, Gantt chart, Network analysis, PERT method, Critical path method.

• Project team, role of project manager. Human resource planning. How to build an effective team, Agile approach. Crisis communication in project management

• Budget planning methods and tools. Estimation of expenses. Mathematical calculations and making estimates. Risks and reserve resources of the project. Budget utilization plan.

• Project financing from subsidy programs. Impact of limited resources in healthcare. A trade-off between time and cost. Typical problems of healthcare projects.

• Other project financing options.

• Project management in practice – a lecture by an extern

• Tools for monitoring the progress of the project (EVA, SSD, etc.).

• Risk analysis in project management (RIPRAN method).

• Project implementation management process. Changes in project management. How to proceed with project changes. Problem solving.

• Termination of the project within its life cycle. Reasons for ending the project. Resources for learning in further project planning.

• Small projects, new product development projects.

Syllabus of tutorials:

• Introductory lesson, distribution of projects (eg reconstruction of ICU department, purchase of MR, introduction of IS in the hospital). Description of the initial project intention, opportunity and feasibility study, creation of the first project plan.

• Delineation of work activities. Defining deadlines and time ranges. Sorting of activities (logical links, priorities, milestones).

• Application of the logical framework method.

• Human resources and budgeting. Staffing (roles, powers, wages, etc.) Material resources and budgeting. (WBS, OBS)

• Addition of SWOT, PESTLE analyses. RIPRAN risk analysis - risk management

• Project schedule. Baseline

• Presentation of results - discussion
