Department of Physics
Synopsis:

Students will learn about the possibilities of how to learn about quantum chromodynamics through the measurement of photon-induced processes at accelerators. The course will focus on the previously operating HERA accelerator, the results obtained from the current hadron colliders RHIC and LHC as well as plans for future accelerators, such as the EIC.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Introduction to photon-induced processes

2. Photon flux

3. Overview of relevant models

4. Selected topics related to the HERA accelerator

5. Selected topics related to the RHIC and LHC accelerators

6. Plans for the EIC Accelerator
