The AP3 course is based on AP2 and expects the student to work without any guidance with authentic professional materials and to interpret the text. It includes training oral and written communication skills and functions (e.g., expressing an opinion, agreement, and objections; taking part in discussion, note-taking; summarizing, writing an abstract) and, if possible, also preparing a project on a given or chosen topic and presenting it.
The course places emphasis on distinguishing levels of formal and informal language both in oral and written communication.

Distinguishing formal and informal style, appropriate language for various purposes in oral and written communication. Expressing opinion, agreement, disagreement, objections. Preparing and making presentations, note taking, summarizing, abstract writing.

The course is run as a series of seminars following the topics and scope of the syllabus mentioned above.

Knowledge:
Morphology, syntax, and lexis at the level appropriate to the course, namely: compound sentences, puctuation, more complex vocabulary structures, extended knowledge of text grammar.
Skills:
To apply the acquired knowledge in everyday communication and in more professional contexts both in speaking and writing: to read and retell a text from the student´s branch, prepare a paper from the branch, express an opinion on a specialised topic, write a summary of a specialised text.
