Synopsis:

This course is designed to enhance communication skills in English within the context of project management. It places a strong emphasis on achieving clarity, precision, and adaptability in both expressing and comprehending the English language. The curriculum expands participants' understanding of various topics, such as engaging presentations, product descriptions, marketing strategies, and reporting. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to enrich their vocabulary and refine their grasp of English grammar. The newly acquired knowledge can also be effectively applied in engineering settings.

Please, note that prior knowledge of English at minimum CEFR B2 level is required (a short test at the start of the course)! Wednesdays 12.30-14.00

•a short in-class presentation

•final graded test (minimum 50%)

The course Advanced Business English develops language skills in professional contexts (including engineering). It focuses on the following topics:

•Innovative approaches

•Innovators and Pitching Ideas

•Circular economies

•Product life cycles and Effective meetings

•Financial Investments. Challenging someone politely

•Disruptors in business and Finding solutions

•Disruptive innovations

•Customer engagement and Advertising

•Persuasion and Presenting data

•Tourism impact and Business networking

•Evolving tourism and trends

Study Objective:

Upon successful completion of the course, students will have:

•gained more self-confidence in expressing themselves in English

•learned new communication skills to work effectively with others (speaking and listening)

•learned new vocabulary from business environment

•improved their language accuracy (speaking and writing) and grammar skills

•gained detailed knowledge of authentic business contexts (reading and listening)

•learned to articulate their ideas effectively and politely
