Synopsis:

This course aims to provide students with a solid understanding of the core principles of fluid mechanics and thermomechanics and the ability to apply this knowledge to basic problems in stage technology. By the end of the course, students will be able to comprehend and analyze basic quantities and relationships in fluid mechanics and thermomechanics, as well as to independently solve basic problems in this field using analytical, numerical, and experimental methods. The course will focus on practical applications of these principles in stage technology, with particular emphasis on cooling of stage technologies and environment, air flow in the stage and auditorium, simulation, remote monitoring, and management of this environment. Additionally, a part of the course will be dedicated to exploring ways to enhance the energy efficiency of stage technology operations.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1) Basic concepts and quantities of fluid mechanics.

2) Detailed introduction to general fluid mechanics – quantities and relationships needed to describe the environment of theater scenes.

3) Basic terms and quantities of thermomechanics.

4) Detailed introduction to thermomechanics – quantities and relationships needed to describe the environment of theater scenes.

5) Sources and appliances of thermal energy on the stage.

6) Monitoring and automation of the stage environment - options for measuring individual quantities, cloud solutions, remote management, remote control of performance elements.

7) Simulation of flow in the interior of theaters – introduction to the issue, possibilities of simulations, suitable tools, interpretation of results.

8) Modeling flow in the scene using models - similarity theory, pitfalls and advantages of the model approach.

9) Possibilities of aerodynamic separation of sub-spaces inside theaters (stage, auditorium, other sections).

10) Temperature control of power equipment for stage technologies – cooling, preheating. The basics of heat transfer - conduction, radiation, radiation.

11) Heat exchangers.

12) Energy demand of theater scenes – consumption of individual equipment, thermal and thermodynamic efficiency, possibilities of increasing the efficiency of selected equipment.
