- Synopsis:
-
Principles of fundamental physico-chemical phenomena are demonstrated in ten exercises. Basic thermodynamic, kinetic and electrochemical characteristics, as equilibrium constants, rate constant, buffer capacity etc., are determinated. Required data are obtained by means of chemical analysis (e.g. titration, extraction) and by common instrumental methods (UV-VIS spectrophotometry, polarography, potentiometry, conductometry, electrolysis, viscosimetry). Emphasis is given on appropriate interpretation of measured data and their mathematical and statistical evaluation.
- Requirements:
-
The condition for entering the laboratoty course is passing the entrance test at 60% .
Conditions for obtaining credit:
- meet the entry requirements - test at 60%
- complete all tasks,
- keep a laboratory diary properly,
- submit error-free protocols for all tasks (For protocols it is possible to gain or lose points, which in combination with points from the final test decide to grant credit. For each error-free protocol, the student gets 1 point (bonus point!), if the log is returned for correction, it will not get any point, if the log is returned again because, for example, not all the faults that have been reported have been corrected, it loses 1 point, even repeatedly, until the log is correct.),
- obtain at least 30 points from the final test (max. 50 points) and protocols (the final test can be repeated, but no more than twice).
