Synopsis:

The course characterizes individual groups of new construction materials. In addition to the development and physical nature of these materials, the most commonly used types of recently developed materials, their basic characteristics and mechanical properties are listed. Their technological possibilities, design applicability and methods of their designations are also presented.

Requirements:

Written part of the exam

- 30 minutes

- at least 50 % must be met

Oral part of the examination

After completing the written part of the exam, an oral exam takes place.

Modern technologies of iron and steel metallurgy

Designation of materials according to European standards

Modern steel mass consumption

Materials for the automotive industry

High-strength and high-alloyed steels, superalloys

Light metals and their alloys

Materials produced by powder metallurgy

Amorphous, nanocrystalline and microcrystalline metal materials

Biomaterials, superconducting materials, superplastic materials, shape memory materials

Study Objective:

Familiarization of students with new trends in materials engineering, materials processing and new trends in the production of promising materials.
