The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of production technologies: casting, forming, welding, including acquaintance and explanation of technical terminology and description of the principles of individual production methods, equipment used, application possibilities and methods of their use.

Introduction + welding I: Importance of engineering technology, basic concepts and division of chipless production technologies. Production processes in engineering production. Basic terms and description of individual welding technologies, fusion and pressure methods of welding, creation of welded joints, types of welded joints, marking of welding positions, preparation of welded surfaces.
Welding II: Description of basic welding methods - flame welding, manual welding el. arc coated electrode. Thermal separation of materials - distribution, advantages, disadvantages and applications, principle of oxygen cutting, conditions of cutability, used equipment
Casting I: Basic concepts of foundry, development and properties of foundry alloys. Metallurgical production, use of equilibrium diagram, basic division and types of iron foundry alloys (including their production). Description of foundry production, types of foundry molds and molding compounds, model equipment
Casting II: Description of individual foundry technologies and their comparison. Manual production of molds - materials, aids, machine production of molds - technical equipment. Basics of casting production: models, model plates, cores, templates, metal molds, inlet system, risers, metal melting equipment
Forming I: Basic concepts and description of individual technologies of volume and surface forming, forging, rolling, types of production and methods of heating, description of equipment for heating and forming. Division and description of forming machines, technological of stampings and forgings
Forming II: Description of surface and volume forming technologies. Free and die forging - Description of operations, equipment of presses and forges. Description of pipe production
